SOUTH PARK, Pa. -- Both of the main presidential candidates say Iran's missile tests call for renewed pressure on that country. But Democrat Sen. Barack Obama is stressing direct diplomacy while Republican Sen. John McCain focuses on tougher sanctions against Tehran.McCain, speaking at stop at Consol Energy’s headquarters in Cecil Township on Wednesday, said "lines of communications" with Iran should continue. But he said sanctions could affect their behavior "not only rhetorically, but in their pursuit of nuclear weapons as well as this latest missile test."McCain said "lines of communication are fine. Action is what's necessary.”Obama is calling for a continued package of carrot-and-stick incentives to dissuade the Iranians from pursuing nuclear weapons while putting more emphasis on diplomatic talks. He said the lack of diplomacy is partly to blame for the failure to change Iran's course. On Tuesday evening, after arriving in Pittsburgh, McCain made a surprise visit to Primanti’s Brothers in the Strip District.“This is just one of the things I like to do when campaigning, is get out meet people and have a chance to say hello,” said McCain. But there might be a long road ahead for McCain in the Keystone State. According to the most recent Quinnipiac University poll, McCain trails Obama 52 to 40 percent among Pennsylvania voters."We've got a lot of work to do here in Pennsylvania, a lot of work,” said McCain. “We're going to spend a lot of time here. We're going to be getting on the bus and go to the small towns in the state of Pennsylvania and we're going to tell them that we don't agree with Sen. Obama when he said they cling to guns and religion because they're bitter about the economy."
