Friends Remember Teens Killed In Fairfield Twp. Crash

FAIRFIELD TOWNSHIP, Pa. -- Friends and teachers are remembering two teens from Westmoreland County who were killed in a single vehicle crash early Sunday.Police said the crash happened on Route 271 in Fairfield Township, just north of Waterford.The victims are Brandon Boyd, 18, and his passenger, Ross Gibson, 19.According to police, the car crossed into oncoming traffic, hit a guiderail, flipped and hit a tree. Neither man was wearing a seat belt.At this time, there is no word on what caused Boyd to lose control of the vehicle.Both men graduated from Ligonier Valley High School, where Boyd set records on the football field."Brandon was an outstanding football player. He made all state on a very successful football team we had just this past year," said coach Ron Baldonieri.Even though school is out, the district is making grief counselors available to students.
