PITTSBURGH -- Pittsburgh Mayor Luke Ravenstahl continued his sweeps of Pittsburgh neighborhoods Thursday at the future home of the Zone 3 police station. The Zone 3 station is currently located on Mary Street on the South Side but was ordered to be moved by the mayor after Cmdr. Catherine McNeilly filed a complaint with the Department of Labor over the stations’ working conditions. It will relocate to the corner of Arlington and Warrington avenues sometime in 2009 in what city officials said is another step in cleaning up Pittsburgh.“There are over 1,400 abandoned structures in the city of Pittsburgh that are havens for storing weapons and for dealing drugs or squatting,” Ravenstahl said.
