Steeler Kendall Simmons Talks To Kids About Diabetes

PITTSBURGH -- Steelers’ offensive linemen Kendall Simmons continued to raise diabetes awareness on Monday at Steelers’ training camp.Simmons spent time on the sidelines with youngsters who also suffer from type 1 diabetes. He spoke with the children and introduced them to his teammates.The 6-3, 315-pounder was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes prior to the 2003 season.Simmons wants to help others learn how to manage their diabetes and he is taking part in a new awareness campaign called “Winning With Diabetes.”He will be speaking about diabetes at the Joslin Diabetes Center at the Western Pennsylvania Hospital in November.
