Steeler Kendall Simmons Talks To Kids About Diabetes

Steelers’ offensive linemen Kendall Simmons continued to raise diabetes awareness on Monday at Steelers’ training camp.

Simmons spent time on the sidelines with youngsters who also suffer from type 1 diabetes. He spoke with the children and introduced them to his teammates.

The 6-3, 315-pounder was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes prior to the 2003 season.

Simmons wants to help others learn how to manage their diabetes and he is taking part in a new awareness campaign called “Winning With Diabetes.”

He will be speaking about diabetes at the Joslin Diabetes Center at the Western Pennsylvania Hospital in November.
