PITTSBURGH -- The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation has announced that no mainline lane closures are scheduled for the Parkway East this weekend.

However, there will be shoulder closures in both directions. Ramp closures will be in effect, as well.

The on-ramps from Route 8 (Wilkinsburg) and Route 30 (Forest Hills) to the outbound Parkway East at the Wilkinsburg interchange will close at 9 p.m. Friday. Crews will be patching concrete, upgrading drainage, trimming tees, repairing structures and resurfacing the ramp.

The long term closure is needed to raise the ramp to improve clearance over Route 8/30. Signs will be posted to guide motorists.

Here is the posted detour for the Wilkinsburg Exit 8 On-ramps:

Take the inbound (westbound) Parkway East to the Edgewood Swissvale interchange (Exit 7).

At bottom of exit, make a left onto Braddock Avenue.

Follow signs to outbound Parkway East.

Motorists traveling on the Parkway West will find lane restrictions in both directions this weekend. Route 60 will be reduced to a single lane in both directions from the Route 60/Business 60 split to Route 22 interchange in Robinson Township starting Friday night.

In addition, the ramp from Robinson Town Center Boulevard to Route 60 northbound will be closed.

The restriction and ramp closure will begin 8 p.m. Friday and continue until 6 a.m. Monday.

Follow detour from Park Manor Road to Robinson Center Drive.

Take Robinson Center Drive to Montour Run Road.

Continue along Montour Run Road to re-enter Route 60 North.
