GLENFIELD, Pa. -- Residents of a local borough are sending a message to speeders who are racing in their neighborhood.

They are worried about people speeding on Kilbuck Street in Glenfield.

It's a heavily-traveled road connecting Route 65 to Interstate 79.

Residents say although the speed limit has always been 25 miles per hour, cars and even 18-wheelers are approaching 60 to 70 miles an hour.

They made these homemade speed limit signs to remind drivers of how fast they are permitted to go.

There are other signs that read "pretend there's a cop here, slow down."

Neighbors say they've noticed more people speeding since police stopped patrolling and they think the signs are working.

"I noticed since we did put up the signs it has slowed down which is nice because he's playing around all the time and there are other children around here," said Jessica Walker.

Borough leaders tell us PennDOT crews plan to survey the area Thursday to determine how many new, standard issue speed limit signs are necessary.
