ATV Driver Charged With DUI, Running Over Woman

WEST DEER TOWNSHIP, Pa. -- Police said that a man who admitted to have been drinking ran over a woman while driving an all-terrain vehicle.Tina Bailey was walking along a street early on Sunday evening when the man drove his ATV straight for her.“I said, ‘Oh my God, he is losing control!’” said Bailey. “Before you knew it, he came right towards me, and I ducked my head and just rolled on over the hill.”Police said the ATV was driven by a 33-year-old man who lives in the township.He admitted that he was drinking alcohol before he got on the ATV and went for a ride on a public street, police said.“I just can’t believe that he got on a vehicle like this when he knew he was drinking,” said Bailey.She said she suffered a shattered wrist and foot from her fall and faces surgery.The vehicle was not legal for street use, and it was not registered or insured, police said.The man will be charged with driving under the influence and injury to a person while driving under the influence.
