Charity Walkers Raise Awareness For Apraxia

NORTH PARK, Pa. -- Walkers hit the streets to benefit a rare childhood disease in North Park.Dozens took part in the first annual Childhood Apraxia of Speech Walk-a-thon at Harmar Grove Saturday morning.Apraxia is a condition that makes it difficult for children to speak.One boy thought a walk-a-thon would be a great way to raise money and spread awareness.Proceeds from Saturday's walk will benefit a charity that helps children cope with he disorder by providing intensive speech therapy and muscle coordination exercises.
