Armstrong Co. Commissoner's Son Accidentally Shot Self In Leg

COWANSHANNOCK TOWNSHIP, Pa. -- The hunter who accidentally shot himself while cleaning his .40 caliber gun on Monday was the son of Armstrong County Commissioner Patricia Kirkpatrick.

The commissioner said that her son, Kyle Kirkpatrick, is in stable condition at UPMC Presbyterian.

According to officials, the .40 caliber bullet went through Kirkpatrick's hand and into his left leg.

The accident happened in Cowanshannock Township along Hills Church Road.
