Women Accused In Prostitution Sting To Stand Trial

Two of 11 women who worked at massage spas that allegedly served as fronts for prostitution will be held for trial. They are accused of prostitution, promoting a prostitution ring, dealing in the proceeds of illegal activity and participating in a corrupt organization.

An undercover police officer testified on Thursday that on several occasions Ming Ying Yang and Fang Min Zhu accepted money in exchange for sex acts.

The officer also testified the women working there were not allowed to leave much and faced severe consequences if their customers were not satisfied.

The two were arrested after federal agents and police officers raided the Jade Hearts Body massage spa on Monroeville Boulevard in September. It's just one of two businesses police said operated as fronts for prostitution.

The defense attorney is disappointed with the judge's decision to hold the women for court.

A preliminary hearing that started earlier this week for other defendants who worked at the Pine Tree Spa in Moon Township has been continued until January.
