Carnegie Mellon University engineering students will showcase innovative product designs in an exposition on Monday.

The innovative product designs will include a new foldout toaster, a novel ski boot attachment and an automatic safety lock for baby strollers to prevent it from moving when parents are not holding the stroller handle.

Other products will include an ergonomic weed trimmer and an energy-saving ice-cube maker.

The projects, designed to help students identify critical engineering components and concepts, is the senior capstone design project in mechanical engineering.

The expo will be held at the CMU Center, first floor, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
