McKeesport Man Charged With Setting 4 Fires Inside Ex-Girlfriend's Home

A McKeesport man was arrested and accused of torching his ex-girlfriend’s house.

Police said 39-year-old D’Andre Richardson set four separate fires inside Patricia Walker’s Maple Street home early Friday morning.

At 1 a.m., fire investigators said Richardson set fire to a living room sofa, a second floor mattress, a child’s closet and in a cardboard box in the home's attic.

Police said Richardson was drunk when he set the fires.

According to the criminal complaint, Walker broke up with Richardson a year and a half ago, but she said she's had numerous problems with him since then.

Police said just a few weeks ago Walker called 911 after she said Richardson tried to break into an upstairs window.

The intruder was gone by the time police arrived, but Walker was so afraid of her ex, she heeded a friends warning for her and her children not to sleep in the house Thursday night.

Walker took her children and left and police said that act may have saved several lives.

Richardson is charged with arson, causing or risking a catastrophe, burglary, criminal trespass, theft, recklessly endangering another person and criminal mischief.
