Public works employees decorated the "Terrible Tree" on Wednesday, as part of the Steelers' playoff run.

Allegheny County Chief Executive Dan Onorato, and Pittsburgh Mayor Luke Ravenstahl attended the rally.

The team is set to take on the San Diego Chargers in the divisional round of the AFC playoffs at 4:45 p.m. Sunday at Heinz Field.

"The rally will give us an opportunity to thank the Steelers for a great regular season and build momentum for a victory against San Diego on Sunday," Onorato said.

"The road to the Super Bowl starts here in Pittsburgh," Ravenstahl said. "Let's show San Diego what Steelers fans are all about by turning the courtyard black and gold."

A live musical guest was also on hand to entertain the crowd, and a limited number of hot dogs were served on a first-come, first-served basis.

The "Terrible Tree" was conceived in 2006 during the Steelers' run to Super Bowl XL.
