Thousands of Steelers fans were seeing more black than gold during Sunday's AFC divisional playoff game against the San Diego Chargers.

Comcast customers across Allegheny and Westmoreland counties reported their cable going out for about 45 minutes.

One man said he had to go to a local bar to finish watching the game.

"Accidents happen. You know, that's the way it is, but we have satellite TV up there, so you can get it all the time. Come to Primanti's!" said Smokey, a Steelers fan.

"We did miss an exciting quarter," said Steelers fan Doug Fello. "It happened to be one of the best quarters there was, you know. I heard. I was mad 'cause like, right in the middle of the play, and that was a good game."

Comcast issued a statement about Sunday night's outage:

"We sincerely apologize to our customers and know that many of them were watching the Steelers game. Shortly after 7 p.m., we detected an equipment failure that resulted in a disruption of services in a contained area. The issue was detected immediately and our crews made it a priority to restore services as soon as possible."
