Former Parking Authority Worker Accused Of Stealing Meter Money

Worker Turned Himself In Wednesday

Gary Stone was head of the parking authority in New Castle, Lawrence County.

Now he's facing charges after more than 100,000 went missing from his department.

Stone, 24, had been off the city's payroll for more than a year during the police investigation, but just turned himself in this week.

New Castle police chief Tom Sansone said the city noticed an infusion of cash from meters after Stone left his job.

Stone is accused of only depositing a small portion of meter money collected while her was running the authority.

Stone posted his $10,000 bond and awaits his next court date.
