19-year-old dies after being hit by tractor-trailer on I-70 in Washington County

WASHINGTON COUNTY, Pa. — A 19-year-old man was killed when he was hit by a tractor-trailer Saturday morning on Interstate 70 in Charleroi, the Washington County Coroner’s Office said.

Osman Bakali, of West Chester Township, Ohio, pulled over and got out of his car after he thought he struck something in the westbound lanes of I-70, according to the coroner’s office. While walking around the car, he was struck by the tractor-trailer about 9 a.m.

Bakali was pronounced dead at the scene about 10 a.m. The coroner’s office listed the cause of his death as multiple blunt force trauma.

Pennsylvania State Police are investigating the accident, which closed all westbound lanes of I-70 for several hours.
