Police: Man Kills 2 Dogs, Assaults Pregnant Girlfriend, Elderly Man

Updated: 5:46 pm EDT April 1, 2009

A Venango County man was arrested for allegedly killing two dogs and assaulting a woman and an 81-year-old man, police said.

Dallas Oliver, of Titusville, allegedly strangled one dog Tuesday night and threw another into traffic on Route 8 in Cherrytree Township.

“He wanted my money, my MAC card, and I wouldn’t give it to him,” said Ashley See, Oliver’s girlfriend and mother of his unborn child.

Police said Oliver punched his girlfriend several times before she was able to escape to the neighbors and call for help.

She told police Oliver flipped out and killed her 8 month-old dog, Lilly.

“He was standing by the side of the road, waiting for a car to come by, and he threw my dog out into the road,” See said.

An 81-year-old driver of the car that hit the dog stopped and got out to help. When he did, he was assaulted by Oliver and had to be taken to a local hospital for his injuries, police said.

Oliver is also accused of choking his son’s 4 year-old dog, Dory, to death.

Police said Oliver will remain in jail until his court date scheduled for April 8. The judge denied him bail after hearing the violent details of what allegedly happened.

Oliver was charged with three counts of simple assault, two counts of animal cruelty, two counts of harassment and one count of public drunkenness.
