Shelter Dog Needs Surgery And Good Home

Animal Shelter Looking For Help For Dog

The Animal Rescue League of Western Pennsylvania is looking for a new home for a dog that needs surgery.

Mac is a pit bull terrier mix. He was abandoned and ended up at the Rescue League’s shelter.

After he was examined it was determined he needs extensive surgery for an orthopedic problem with his knees.

Without the surgery he won’t be able to jump and play like normal dogs and will eventually lose his ability to walk altogether.

The Rescue League has raised about half of the money needed for the surgery but he can’t have the surgery until he finds a home.

That is because he will need round the clock care, which the shelter can’t provide.

The shelter is looking for someone to adopt Mac and provide a permanent home where he can recover from the operation.

Volunteers at the Rescue League have started the “Mac” fund for animals with special needs.

Money from the contributions to the “Mac” fund will help cover the costs associated with medical or behavioral procedures need for other homeless animals like Mac.

The Animal League is located at the corner of 5th and Hamilton Ave. in Pittsburgh’s East End.

For more information go to the Animal Rescue League’s Website.

Or you can call the shelter at 412-661-6452.
