Posted: 10:25 pm EDT June 29, 2009Updated: 10:33 pm EDT June 29, 2009

Two local malls are on U.S. News and World Report's most-endangered list.

About 30 of the 120 stores at Century III Mall in West Mifflin have recently closed.

The mall is competing with discount retailers such as Wal-Mart and Kohl's.

A spokesperson for Century III said the mall is not in danger of closing.

In a statement released Monday night, Saul Markowitz said "Century III enjoys a great anchor line up including Sears, JCPenney, Macy's and Dick's Sporting Goods and has a number of great specialty stores."

Also on the endangered list is Washington Crown Center in the City of Washington.
