Care Home Worker Accused Of Stealing Rings From Patients

A worker at a Westmoreland County home for Alzheimer’s patients is accused of stealing rings off the fingers of three patients.

Renetta Shipp, 45, was caring for the women at the Walnut Ridge Memory Care Home in Hempfield Township at the time.

State police said Shipp pulled a gold ring off of two patients, a 93-year-old woman and a 59-year-old woman, while putting them to bed.

Police also reported that Shipp is accused of stealing five rings while helping an 88-year-old patient shower.

The owners of the care home released a statement saying: “We are saddened that this situation occurred. Our administration and staff cares very deeply for our residents and their families. We will continue to provide for the needs of our residents and their loved ones who entrust us with their care.”
