TARENTUM, Pa. -- Police said alcohol might have played a role in a four-car crash near the Tarentum Bridge this weekend. The crash happened along Ross Street after a driver cut through traffic and hit three cars, causing one of the vehicles to flip several times, police said.An elderly man and his 17-year-old grandson were in that car. The grandfather, whose name has not been released, was flown to Allegheny General, where his condition is not known."How someone didn't get killed in this is beyond me," said Mark Glogowski of the Tarentum Borough Police Department. "Fortunately, the extent of the injuries, at this point, with the exception of the grandfather driving that car, all appear to be relatively minor. The grandfather was alert and conscious in the car, but he did have injuries."The driver accused of causing the crash was arrested for suspicion of drunken driving.
