2 communities mourn loss of K-9 units

The Monroeville and Scott Township police departments each lost a K-9 unit over the weekend.

“It is with great sorrow that we share with everyone that our K-9 Officer Lord has passed away after complications with a tumor,” the Scott Township Police Department said in a post on its Facebook page.

The Monroeville Police Department said retired K-9 unit Rocco died Friday at the age of 12.

Rocco served the Monroeville Police Department from 2006 to his retirement in 2014.
