Water Main Break Near Pitt Floods Popular Oakland Street

A water main break closed several streets Thursday morning in Pittsburgh's Oakland section.

A 12-inch water main broke at about 2 a.m. along Dithridge Street, dispatch workers said.

According to a spokeswoman from the Pittsburgh Water and Sewer Authority, water service was shut off, but no residential buildings were affected.

Dithridge is closed between Forbes and Fifth avenues while crews make repairs, which are expected to be complete by 4 p.m.
