PITTSBURGH -- Target 11 has been investigating the case of a school bus driver accused of having students throw rocks out of the bus windows.
Investigator Karen Welles has learned that may not be the only trouble the woman is in.
Krisha Hampton, 30, is the mother of several children.
In November 2002, she filed court papers looking for child support from one of the fathers - Durrell McCoy - a 17-year-old boy who insists he is not the father. He was a child himself when he was accused of helping her to conceive the child.
According to the court papers, Hampton sued McCoy for child support for her 4-year-old son she claims was fathered by McCoy.
That means at the time she got pregnant, McCoy was 12 years old - Hampton, twice his age.
Welles asked, "Take a look at this woman. Do you know her? Did you ever see her before?"
"Never, ever seen her before. Not once," McCoy responded.
Welles asked, "You don't know who she is at all?"
"Uh uh," McCoy said.
Welles asked, "Did you ever have sex with this woman?"
"No," McCoy responded.
Welles asked, "Never fathered a child of her's?"
"Uh, uh I'd remember something like that at 12 years old," McCoy said.
You may remember Hampton as the school bus driver who is charged with unlawful restraint and corruption of minors for allegedly forcing two dozen students to throw rocks at passing cars in Stowe Township.
Welles talked with Hampton at her home.
Welles asked, "Aren't you going to court next week to get child support out of Durrell?"
"Um, yeah," Hampton responded.
Welles asked, "Can we talk about that?"
"OK," Hampton said.
But when Welles questioned her, Hampton said, "My 4-year-old has a father already."
Welles asked, How old is he?"
"Huh?" Hampton responded.
"How old is he?" Welles asked again.
"No, my 4-year-old has a father already. All my children have fathers," Hampton said.
Welles asked, "Yeah, but according to the court documents you want child support from his father, right?"
"No, I don't want child support from anybody," Hampton responded.
But the court documents say she does - from McCoy.
Welles said, "When you looked at the age of the child and saw that the child was 4 ..."
"That meant my son wasn't even 13 when this baby was conceived," McCoy's mother, Magelene, responded.
Durrell McCoy went to court with his mother, since he's a juvenile, and Krisha Hampton was a no show.
"I advised my son to go ahead and have the swab done, the genetic testing done so we can end this," Magelene said.
For the courts to establish paternity, Hampton would also have to consent to her child being tested.
Another hearing is scheduled for April.
In the meantime, court officials tell Welles if it's proved that McCoy is the child's father, the case would be referred to the district attorney for possible prosecution.
