WILKINS TOWNSHIP, Pa. -- People who live along Wilbur Street in Wilkins Township are on edge as the road in front of their homes crumbles apart.

"Every morning I get up I take a stroll to see how bad the road has gotten overnight," said homeowner Kathy Strait.

Strait and her neighbors said their street is collapsing as a result of the floods back in June.

Strait said she's willing to sell her home, but the township isn't ready to buy her out just yet.

Township leaders said the repairs to the street will cost $1.2 million. They're hoping to get federal help.

Wilkins Township manager Rebecca Bradley released a statement Tuesday saying "If FEMA determines that damages resulting from the floods of June 17, 2009, are eligible for funding, the township expects that repairs will be made to the road and retaining wall within the next six months. If FEMA determines that these damages do not meet the threshold for eligibility, the township will need to consider all alternatives."
