Worker Dies In Freak Scaffolding Fall At Monessen Plant

MONESSEN, Pa. -- A worker died Friday morning in Westmoreland County after falling about 25 feet off scaffolding.The accident happened at about 9:30 a.m. at the ArcelorMittal coke plant along Donner Avenue.The victim was identified as Michael Grinder, 39, of Warren, Ohio. The medical examiner said he was employed by Eastern Industrial Services, of West Elizabeth.Grinder was pronounced dead at the Monongahela Valley Hospital. The cause of death was blunt force trauma.
