PITTSBURGH -- For an 11-year-old cancer patient, having big-time football friends is nothing new.Heather Miller first met Troy Polamalu last year while he was visiting patients in Children’s Hospital, and the friendship has led to many new connections for Miller.“They’re just like normal guys,” said Miller. “They are so nice, but famous.”Polamalu now competes for Miller’s affection as teammate Casey Hampton tries to block the Steelers safety.“Case came and gave me his jersey because I was always wearing Troy’s,” sais Miller. “He is so nice. Like Troy, only bigger.”While the rest of the Steelers nation worried about Polamalu’s condition after his injury in the season opener against the Titans, Miller was one of the first to be reassured of his health.“He actually e-mailed me and said not to worry about him,” she said. “He’s going to be fine.”Being in and out of Children’s Hospital can take a toll on a child, but with Miller’s football friends recovery is sweet as a Super Bowl win.
