Families Score Big With Steelers, Ronald McDonald House

Two big Steelers names helped to open a brand new facility in Lawrenceville to help the families of sick patients at Childrens’ Hospital.

Ben Roethlisberger and Art Rooney II cut the ribbon at the new Ronald McDonald house attached to the new Childrens’ Hospital in Lawrenceville on Tuesday morning.

“This facility here is great because it’s a place for the families to come to live to be close to home as possible,” said Steelers quarterback Roethlisberger. “Not just put them in a hotel room, but to put them in a place they can actually call home while they’re going through a tough time.”

The new facility has about 60 suites and is equipped with flat screen TVs, a fully equipped kitchen and community rooms packed with fireplaces and beautiful décor.

The Steelers are a part of the fundraising to pay for the brand new Ronald McDonald house and it will be a long road ahead as $5 million still has to be raised.
