Officers began to chase McDaniel and say he tried to run over a police officer but instead crashed into Gatto's Cycle Shop on East Seventh Avenue.

"From my understanding, he robbed the place and led police on the chase and swerved into oncoming traffic and hit our building," said shop owner Mark Gatto.

McDaniel was taken to a local hospital to be treated for unspecified injuries.

He is charged with aggravated assault against a police officer, reckless endangerment, theft and driving with a suspended license.

It is not yet known how much damage was done to Gatto's Cycle Shop.
