A Uniontown school district suspended a girl after her father's hunting arrows were found in her car on school grounds.

Albert Gallatin's assistant superintendent told Channel 11 News that Jessica Cook faced up to a year suspension for having arrows and a pocket knife in the vehicle.

However, the district took into consideration Cook's behavior and the fact that she never got into trouble at school, so they suspended her for three days instead.

Carl Cook said his daughter is involved in many school activities and is an honors student. He said she's a model student who has never gotten into trouble before.

He said he takes full responsibility for leaving the weapons in the car, which someone spotted and alerted the school.

"It was my fault, because I used the car the night before for hunting," said Cook's father, Carl Cook. "I took the bow and arrows out that were dangerous, but they say these are just as dangerous."
