Crash Injures 5, Knocks Out Power In Lincoln Place

Five people were injured Sunday morning in a crash which knocked out power in parts of Lincoln Place, Pittsburgh dispatch workers said.

The crash happened at about 5 a.m. in the 4500 block of Gates Drive.

The car hit a utility pole and knocked wires onto the car and the road.

Two people were pinned in the car until they were rescued by emergency workers.

Two of the victims were taken to University of Pittsburgh Medical Center Mercy Hospital.

Two others were taken to UPMC Presbyterian Hospital.

Their names and conditions were not available.

Duquesne Light said fewer than 100 customers were without service following the crash.

Verizon and Duquesne Light crews were working to replace the pole and restore the power.
