DUQUESNE: Monthly Food Bank Distribution Day Moved

The Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank will once again distribute food to needy families in the area from the main warehouse in Duquesne. However, the date of the monthly distribution is changed due to the Thanksgiving holiday.On November 17th from 5:30 to 7:30 PM qualified individuals and families can pick up donated items. Distribution is open to all who earn 150% of the federal poverty limit or less (150% = $33,075 for a family of four). Individuals who are out of work, and/or disabled are also qualified.The Food Bank remains committed to meeting the need for services during the economic downturn. Representatives from the Food Bank say about 1,000 new households are seeking food assistance each month in Southwestern PA.People who come to pick up food should bring bags or other containers to carry the food in. Parking is free. The main distribution warehouse is located at: 1 North Linden St. Duquesne, PA 15110
