Girl Listed As Critical After Car Goes Airborne In Armstrong Co.

COWANSHANNOCK TOWNSHIP, Pa. -- A 23-year-old woman was injured in a crash in Armstrong County early Wednesday morning.The victim, Ashley Stadtmiller, of Home, Pa., was found inside her vehicle over an embankment along Route 85 near Minich Road in Cowanshannock Township. Police said she struck a guide rail and went airborne over an embankment before striking a utility police.The impact of the crash was so intense, that it shifted posts in the ground and split a utility pole in half.Police believe a family member searching for her was the one to find the car.Stadtmiller had multiple trauma and was unconscious, authorities said. She was flown to UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, where she is in critical condition.Authorities are still trying to determine the cause of the crash.
