Man Accused Of Duping H.S. Student With Fake Bill To Stand Trial

A man accused of using a fake $100 bill to steal from a school fundraiser in Westmoreland County will stand trial.

Police said Justin Mattucci, 27, approached a 15-year-old girl in the parking lot of the Snooky's Sunoco on Route 30 in Hempfield Township.

The girl was helping with a fundraiser for the Hempfield High School marching band.

According to police, Mattucci asked the girl if she had change for a hundred and the girl said, "Yes." She gave him five $20 bills.

After Mattucci left, someone figured out the $100 bill was fake.

Police arrested Mattucci and charged him with forgery and theft by deception.
