Police: DUI Driver Crashes In Washington Co., Knocks Down Utility Poles

Power crews had to repair telephone poles and downed wires after an overnight crash in Washington County.

The crash happened at about 2 a.m. Wednesday along Henderson Avenue in Washington.

Police at the scene said a woman driving a pickup truck lost control of her vehicle and went off the road. She hit a telephone pole and broke it in half, then knocked down a second pole, police said.

The car had West Virginia license plates. The driver, whose name has not been released, was treated at the scene. She was taken into custody on suspicion of drunken driving.

Allegheny Power crews were called in to make repairs.
