Woman Hit By Car In South Side

A woman was hit by a car while crossing East Carson Street Thursday morning in Pittsburgh's South Side.

Police said an elderly man was turning onto Carson from South 18th Street when he hit the woman.

The woman was thrown up and over the driver's hood.

The man told police he was driving a new car and did not see the woman.

The woman was taken to UPMC Mercy. Her condition was not immediately released.

Police have not yet said whether the driver will be charged.
