Work To Remove Romare Bearden Mural From Downtown Pittsburgh Under Way

PITTSBURGH -- Work to carefully remove the Romare Bearden mural from the Gateway Station in Downtown Pittsburgh is under way.Channel 11 got a look at the process Monday.A contractor is cutting the tiled mural piece-by-piece away from a concrete wall within the station, which is closed.A new station is being built nearby. Port Authority plans to store the mural, entitled "Pittsburgh Recollections" during construction and then place it in the new station.
