Local Brewery Producing First Beer Since January

PITTSBURGH -- A local brewery began producing its first beer this week since it was forced to close in January.Penn Brewery's first new batch of ale will be its Penn Pilsner.Tom Pastorius founded the craft brewery in 1986 and sold it in 2003.Now that he has bought it back, he said he has big plans in store.“The restaurant will continue to have the wonderful events we’ve done,” said Pastorius. “So we intend to be a center and icon of entertainment in Pittsburgh.”Pastorius said the North Side restaurant won't open until the beer is ready. He said that process is going to take about ten more weeks.
