Thousands of runners are already registered to run in all events for the Pittsburgh Three Rivers Marathon, set for May 2nd, 2010. As registration for the marathon, the ½ marathon and the relay race continue to climb; early registration for the events is quickly coming to an end.

On November 28th, runners who register for any of the events will receive a discount on their entry fees. After that date, the registration fees continue to climb as the date for the race nears closer.

Meanwhile, on November 25th UPMC Health Plan was named as the title sponsor for the Pittsburgh Half Marathon. UPMC Health Plan is the third title sponsor for the annual event, joining Dick’s Sporting Goods as title sponsor for the Marathon and FedEx Ground as the title sponsor for the Marathon Relay.

Race Director, Patrice Matamors said “We are very grateful to UPMC Health Plan for joining us and helping to promote a healthy lifestyle.”

Combined registration for all three Marathon events currently exceeds 2,900. Last year, the event sold out and is expected to do so even sooner this year.

$80 through January 30th, 2010

$90 through April 18th, 2010

$100 April 30th, 2010 – May 1st, 2010 and at packet/pick up late registration

$60 through November 28, 2009

$65 through January 30, 2010

$75 through April 18, 2010

$80 April 30 through May 1 and at packet pick-up/late registration
