23-year-old nursing student, Tim Harff has always had a love for the technical side of show business. As a student at Norwin High School, Harff was a member of the school’s stage crew for their musical and play productions.Always having an ear for music, Harff was also a member of the Norwin High School Band. Now he’s combining both his talents (and his savvy computer smarts) to create a unique and rather entertaining holiday light show. From November 29th through January 1st, you can experience Harff’s creation at his parents’ house, located at:1907 Bernice DrNorth Huntingdon, PA 15642Between the hours of 5:30 PM – 10:00 PM (Sunday thru Thursday’s) and 5:30 PM – 11:00 PM (Friday and Saturday’s) you can witness thousands of lights dance to the music of the Trans Siberian Orchestra.Harff started this holiday tradition just last year. According to his mother Cindy, it took him several years to build up to. “Tim saved money from cutting grass in the summer for a number of years. He would buy all of the lights on sale after Christmas and he did that for years until he had enough lights and money to buy the software for his computer.”But Harff isn’t just doing the show for its entertainment value; he’s also doing it to collect money for a local volunteer fire department and the Ronald McDonald House. Last year he was able to donate $600 to the Ronald McDonald House. This year he’s decided to split the donations between the Ronald McDonald House and the Circleville VFD, where he’s been a volunteer firefighter since the age of 14. Harff’s father is also a member of the department. Cindy says they have 6 active volunteer firefighters living in their neighborhood, so this is a great way to help raise money for the department. The official start of the Harff House 2009 Christmas Light Display is Saturday November 28th at 7:00 PM.To see a you tube clip of last year’s display (which is even larger this year) click here: LINK: HARFF HOUSE CHRISTMAS LIGHT DISPLAY
