Perry High School Student Unharmed After Saying She Was Abducted

Pittsburgh police said a Perry High School student told them she was abducted on the North Side Tuesday night.

Investigators said the girl told them Wednesday morning that she was taken from an alley in the 200 block of Ames Street and dropped off downtown.

“A gentleman came up from behind her, she believes he came up behind her with his hand over her face and mouth and forced her into the back of a vehicle,” said Lt. Michael Piasecki of the Pittsburgh police.

Police said the abductors drove the teen around for more than an hour.

“She doesn’t know where they were taking her,” said Piasecki. “They kept her eyes covered the whole time. She was dropped off downtown, in an alley in downtown Pittsburgh.”

While in the car, police said her abductors threatened and warned her not to tell anyone about what happened, but ultimately left the girl unharmed.

“She wasn’t molested in anyway,” said Piasecki. “Some things were said to her I can’t divulge what was said other than she was unharmed. She called a boyfriend at the time he picked her up and brought her back home.”

The victim didn’t say anything to her family, but did tell someone at school and that’s how police got involved in the case.

“We don’t believe this was a random act, we believe she was singled out with this incident, but because of the investigation I really can’t say much more about what was said in the vehicle,” said Piasecki.
