Posted: 6:46 am EST November 27, 2009Updated: 2:08 pm EST November 27, 2009

A steady stream of shoppers packed outlets all over the area in search of Black Friday deals Friday morning.

There were long lines outside the Tanger Outlets in Washington, where shoppers waited to get a head start on their holiday shopping lists.

Those stores were scheduled to open at midnight on Thursday, but ended up opening earlier due to the volume of customers. It also led to heavy traffic in the area of the stores.

Store owners said business was steady until about 4:30 a.m., and it was expected to pick up again later in the morning.
