PITTSBURGH -- Officers found 17 shell casings at the scene of a shooting along Sterling Street Sunday afternoon.

A woman was shot just after 2 p.m., police said.

Her family drove her to South Side Hospital, and she was later transported to UPMC Mercy.

Medics described her as being conscious and alert. Her injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

Police towed two vehicles from the area, but it's not clear if the cars were involved or just hit by bullets.

No arrests have been made.
