The department was out searching for him.On Monday, Baker took the stand to testify, saying that she played dead so her husband wouldn’t shoot her again.Baker told the court that she watched as Greg Baker got out of the car with a gun. She told him that Daugherty was only a friend. She also testified that the shooter got on the phone to call their daughter to tell her he had just killed her mom.The prosecution said what Greg Baker did was cold and calculated and only had one witness; the victim who lived to tell the story.Rochester police Sgt. That's when Baker allegedly pulled out a gun and shot the two, said the source.Police said Baker confessed to the shooting, which witness Tony Prest said looked like an "assassination.""Just like an assassination," said Prest. "The (male victim) was laying on the ground. He just put one in him."Witnesses reported seeing Baker approach the couple, firing five bullets at them from point-blank range.Baker, a former car wash owner, told reporters as he was escorted by police, "Tell my kids I love them."Linda Baker was flown to UPMC Presbyterian Hospital for her injuries. Dougherty was shot in the chest and died a short time later."CPR was started on her and she did come around and told us that it was him," said Sgt. Charles Zarillo of the Rochester Police Department.Linda Baker's lawyer, Dennis Blackwell, said his client suffered multiple gunshot wounds to her stomach and back. He said she filed for divorce Nov. 30 and said the papers were to be served to Baker on Friday.Linda Baker moved out of the home she shared with Baker several weeks ago.Greg Baker is charged with homicide and aggravated assault, among other charges.Marcinkiewicz reported that the violence between Baker and his wife allegedly goes back 30 years.Court documents from 1982 show Baker punched Linda Baker in the head, threatened to kill her and tried to force her vehicle off the road. Linda Baker was pregnant at the time and the two were dating.A year later, Linda Baker dropped the charges and eventually married Baker.Investigators are now trying to determine if Thursday afternoon's shooting was planned.
