Cigarette To Blame In High-Rise Fire
Fire Forces Evacuation Of Elderly Residents

PITTSBURGH -- A cigarette is being blamed for forcing several dozen elderly people out of their high-rise apartment building in Fayette County.
A fire started in a second floor apartment at Poplar Lane Court in South Union Township Thursday night.
The management of the building said a person in that apartment was smoking and caught a chair on fire.
Two people were taken to the hospital for smoke inhalation.
Their conditions are not being released.
