Burglar Targets Mt. Lebo Homes While Residents Sleep

Mount Lebanon police are notifying residents of a burglar who has been targeting people in the Sunset Hills area.

According to police, three occupied homes along Sleepy Hallow, Jonquil and Catalpa were broken into during the last three nights while residents were asleep inside.

Police said the burglar broke in through unsecured windows and unlocked doors, stealing iPods, DVDs and jewelry before leaving.

"We call these burglaries 'crimes of opportunity,'" said Lt. Aaron Lauth. "The burglars went in through windows and a door."

Stacey Pavlick, who lives along Sleepy Hallow, said everyone in her home is on edge, especially her daughters.

Police are reminding residents to keep all windows and doors locked, even when home.

Anyone with information about the burglaries is asked to contact police.
