More Charges Filed Against Police Officer Charged With DUI

South Fayette Township police Officer Thomas Walker appeared in court on Thursday to face charges stemming from an accident in December.

Two officers from another police department who were hurt in that accident were also in the courtroom.

Cecil Township police said Walker was off duty and drunk when he crashed his SUV into a Bridgeville police cruiser on Millers Run Road in December.

That set off a violent chain reaction, which injured two Bridgeville officers.

Bridgeville Police Sgt. Gary James came to court on crutches. He suffered a broken knee bone and a concussion in the accident.

Bridgeville police Officer Chris Manolakos also suffered a concussion.

Walker was already charged with DUI and on Thursday found out he is also being charged with reckless driving, escape and fleeing the scene of an accident.

Noah Geary, Walker’s attorney, asked for and was granted a postponement so he could review the additional charges.

Manolakos is back on the job, but James will be off for several more weeks recovering from his injuries.

Walker is suspended without pay.
