PITTSBURGH: Go Red for Women Conference

The women of “Go Red,” a movement part of the American Heart Association working to educate women on the risks of heart disease, invites you to the 2010 Go Red for Women Conference in Downtown Pittsburgh.

Together the “Go Red” movement is bringing a voice to the silent killer of heart disease and changing the perception that heart disease is a “man’s disease.” A panel of experts will be on hand at the Renaissance Hotel and Byham Theatre on March 9th to discuss issues, share stories and give advice.

Those experts include Madelyn Fernstorm, Ph.D, C.N.S, the founder and director of the University of Pittsburgh’s Medical Center Weight Management Center and associate director of UPMC Center for Nutrition in Pittsburgh. She also is an associate professor psychiatry, epidemiology and surgery at the University Of Pittsburgh School Of Medicine.

Jeannette E. South-Paul, M.D. will also be among the panel of experts. She’s the chair of the Department of Family Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh. She also served 22 years as a family physician in the U.S. Army and also served as Chair of the Department of Family Medicine at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Services for six years prior to her military retirement.

The Go Red for Women Conference is scheduled for March 9, 2010 at the Renaissance Hotel and Byham Theatre, located at:
