Sheep Rescued From Fallen Barn In Washington County

Firefighters were able to save two dozen sheep that were trapped after a barn roof collapsed in Fallowfield Township, Washington County, on Monday.

The weight of the snow on the Zippay Farm barn caused the roof to collapse at about 4:30 p.m.

Firefighters rescued 11 adult sheep and seven lambs from beneath the rubble.

Crews were at the scene for a little over two hours, using hydraulic equipment to lift the roof and free the animals.

All but one sheep survived the accident.
