Mercer County Barn Blaze Claims Lives Of Horses, Goats

COOLSPRING TOWNSHIP, Pa. -- At least three horses were among several animals killed in a Coolspring Township barn fire.The blaze broke out at about 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at a barn along Holmes Road.The flames tore through the rear of the stable-style barn, so firefighters worked to save the front portion, which they were able to do.Crews said the owners saved what animals they could before firemen arrived but at least three horses were killed, along with other various animals, including goats, sheep and rabbits.The fire chief is calling the fire accidental.
